Empire Beauty School Opens New Eco-Friendly School In Florida

Empire Beauty Schools has opened a new eco-friendly concept school in Lauderhill, Florida, and already earned the Green Conscious Salon Certification award by the Florida Association of Beauty Professionals (FABPRO). The school is part of the educator’s vision of improving and increasing environmental awareness. Empire Beauty Schools plans to continue their environmentally friendly designs with the development of new schools.

The specific features of the Lauderhill school include water saving devices and load washing machines resulting in 50% reduction in water usage, as well as 40% reduction in natural gas usage with the schools efficient water heater. The newly designed school also adapted low voltage halogen lighter accounting for 60-70% less energy, motion sensing light controls and LED lighted exterior signs versus traditional neon signs. The floors of the school are constructed out of 100% post consumer and post industrial materials and flooring products which pass the indoor air quality and emission requirements. A heat recover ventilation system was installed to transfer nearly 80% of the indoor temperature to incoming fresh air. Conveniently placed custom built recycling centers are also located in the school, allowing students to easily dispose of paper, plastic and glass.

Other features of the school include the use of Regis Designline PURE Results, certified organic hair products and Jane Carter Solutions-Nourish line of beauty products which are also eco-conscious. Visit www.empire.edu or www.matteroftrust.org for further information and news.
