The Pixie Cut

As the leaves begin to change so are the latest trends for hair this fall. One of the hottest trends this season is the Pixie cut. The Pixie can be adapted to be edgy, sleek or feminine. The styling possibilities are endless with the different shapes and looks you can create with this flirty new do. And, unlike the Pixie cuts of yesteryear which featured flat colors, Pixie cuts with subtle highlights draw out your features.

LilySpice Up Your Color

Enhance your look by embracing deep rich chocolates, rich copper reds or radiant golden highlights throughout which will offer texture and dimension to the cut. Don’t forget to use the proper styling products such as a leave-in conditioner to help you tame the frizz. Plus, add pomade or clay to help you style sleek and smooth side-swept bangs, or play with a little more of a flirty twist to your overall look.

Spirals

For a different kind of autumn spice, change up your new cropped look with spiral curls for a feminine and beautiful look. Curls are always fashionable in any season. To keep your look fresh and lively, be sure you’re using the right type of products such as a sculpting glaze and silk drops to define your curls, prevent frizz and add an overall shine to your locks.

Olesea_2Rich Hues

If you want a new look but not necessarily a new cut, add richer hues or embrace your natural tones. Deepen your color and change your look without cropping your hair. Using silk drops or a leave-in conditioner will help you maintain a healthy shine and softness to your hair.

Eva Longoria It’s always best to tailor your hair and makeup for a look that suits you, your skin tone and features best. If you have olive skin like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria, you can play up subtle neutrals and pink pallets of color to accentuate your skin tone or highlight your look with vibrant colors like reds, blues and purples. Without makeup, Eva Longoria looks like her skin tone may be uneven. She knows how to add the right shades of foundation to enhance her bronze skin, and plays up darker eyelashes and eye shadow with rich colors for more definition. Eva even uses a vibrant color on her lips but keeps her overall look simple and not overly done.

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian also has olive skin and hardly needs much more than lip gloss and mascara to enhance her exotic looks. She also plays up on neutral colors but can easily add more eye popping colors without overstating her look. Without makeup, her skin looks fresh and cared for and has a natural glow.

Cameron Diaz If you’re fair skinned, fair haired and have lighter colored eyes like Cameron Diaz, playing up your assets such as your baby blues with darker contrasting colors works best. Cameron’s lip color is a barely-there pink which keeps the attention on her striking eyes. Without makeup, it appears Cameron hasn’t used enough sunscreen to protect her skin which can lead to wrinkles and add more years to your face and neck than are necessary.

Kate Hudson Kate Hudson keeps her makeup fresh and warm with warm peaches and pinks. She also creates a stunning look with precise liner around her eyes. By keeping her lip color bare and neutral, her blue eyes are more accentuated, proving you don’t need to have dark colored eyes to create a smoky effect. Without makeup, Kate’s eyebrows are barely there. And, although she appears to take care of her milky white skin with sunscreen, she needs more contrasting color to bring out her best facial features and define her lips.

Kiera Knightley KeiraKnightly_2 Dark-haired and fair-skinned Kiera Knightly does little to hide her coloring and rather embraces it by emphasizing her brown eyes with more brown and gray shadow. Her lip color is often pink or closest to her actual lip color, but not understated. Even fair-skinned Julia Roberts balances light pink lips with soft shear grays and blues across her lids. The colors open up her deep-set eyes. She also adds a tint of color to her cheeks to brighten up her face. Without makeup, it’s easy to see Kiera and Julia also protect their fair skin with sunscreen or foundation which offers spf protection. Julia Roberts

Makeup should be used to enhance your features. You can play up smoky eyes, add darker liner to emphasize lighter eyes, or add more color to your pout. Celebrities aren’t flawless, but they do know how to accentuate their best features with makeup that doesn’t overdo it or understate it! And like many celebrities, be sure to protect your skin with sunscreen, use foundation that also provides spf, and reward your skin with skin moisturizers. Both will help maintain your skin’s natural beauty.

Romantic and Soft

The hottest end of summer trends are soft, romantic hair that easily moves no matter if it’s sleek and straight or if you have loose curls. Side-swept bangs will intensify a romantic look. Add highlights to bring more focus on your face and to accentuate your features.

Balancing Highlights

Layers and highlights will add dimension, texture and a sun-kissed look to your overall appearance for a sleek and sensual style this summer. Balance the tone of the highlights with natural shades such as caramels and ginger.

Condition the Humidity

If you straighten your hair, use a round brush to help give your hair a little lift and fullness so hair doesn’t fall flat and limp. If you’re dealing with humidity often seen during the tail-end of summer, make sure you apply silk drops or sheen serum to smooth the frizz and add shine to your locks. Leave-in conditioners also offers hair moisture and relief when it’s sticky outside.
