Old Hollywood Glamour at the 2009 SAG Awards

Awards season is here and celebrities are at the forefront of the latest trends and styles for 2009. During the SAG Awards show, many celebrities chose high glamour with chignons, ample loose curls and a new twist on trendy up-dos.

Eva Longoria opted for loose curls, pinned in the back and reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour. Her hairstyle gave the standard bun hairstyle a new twist with her soft curls. She chose subtle makeup with peach gloss and glowing peach cheeks to accent her skin tone.

Angelina Jolie also arrived with a low soft bun with loose, tousled curls and secured with bobby pins. Her style was a bit more intricate in the back. Her makeup, like Eva Longoria, was subtle and soft as she made her entrance with pale pink lips. The latest trends this season are more tousled locks and neutral tones for lips and eye shadow.

Kate Winslet unveiled subdued makeup with shimmery shear eye shadow and pale pink lips to compliment her soft, loose bun with romantic side-swept bangs.

Christina Applegate arrived in full Hollywood glamour as she flaunted a chignon with tousled waves and curls. Her makeup was dramatic with accentuated red lips and luminescent cheeks. The chignon is easy to create and fun to add your own creative flair to the style. Whether you pull it back straight or add curls, the look is versatile and romantic.

In keeping with a Veronica Lake look complete with a side part, long voluminous curls and the peek-a-boo old Hollywood style, were Rosario Dawson and a newly redheaded Evan Rachel Wood at the awards show. This look on an old favorite is always glamorous. The more ample locks you have the better for this sultry style. "The stars have put a little glamour back into hair, make-up and fashion. The looks are easily duplicated for holiday events, socials, dances, proms, weddings, or just that special occasion. Future stylist can add extra earning potential by jumping on the marketing side just like all the fashion designers coming out with the 'Knock off dress just like Kate’s...' why not have 'Look like a Star' as your next marketing tip to grow your business?" noted Empire Beauty Schools' Director of Education, Margie Wagner-Clews.
