Subtle Styles Highlight the 2009 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes welcomed subtle styles and makeup for some of the stars walking the red carpet, putting to rest the past season’s smokey eyes, glimmery lips and angled variations of the bob hairstyle.

Eva Longoria chose a more muted style for the Golden Globes with her parted in the middle style. Her caramel highlighted hair was sleeked back to a low bun. The simple style was complimented with her soft makeup in peach tones for a barely there look. Also arriving in subtle colors was Angelina Jolie, who maintained her consistent pale lips and eye shadow. She showcased her long chocolate tresses parted at the side and hanging loosely at her shoulders.

Kate Winslet glammed up her style for the Golden Globes with striking berry lips contrasted equally with her neutral eye shadow. Her hair was in a dramatic French twist with soft side-swept bangs. Christina Applegate also accentuated her red lips with luminescent cheeks and subtle eye shadow. She also showcased an old favorite, a French twist, with piecy side-swept bangs.

Unveiling a stylish chignon and high glamour was Anne Hathaway. Chignon’s are simple to recreate by pulling a ponytail low and pinning it underneath at the nape of the neck. Anne Hathaway’s makeup was stunning as she accentuated her pale skin with red lips and simple eye shadow and liner.

Zac Efron revealed his newly groomed look at the awards show with a slicked back, formal hairstyle. Efron sported the piecy “teen” shag cut for several years but his sleek new style adds maturity to his look. The Jonas Brothers arrived at Golden Globes in their usual styles. Nick and Kevin Jonas debut their naturally layered curls, while Joe Jonas arrived with trimmed long layers and piecy side-swept bangs.
